Food Pantry Program

Outreach Programs:

The Frances Byrd Horn of Plenty Food Pantry operates weekly and feeds between 350-400 individuals each Wednesday. Annual Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets and toys are given to those in need. The Program provides:

  • Groceries provided last a week or week and a half per family depending on family size (everything including meat)
  • For homeless giving snack packs including sandwich, chips, dessert, juice or water one each week
  • Able to provide service for donations and other churches

    These services are made possible through partnership with other churches and donations from individuals.  To become a part of this network of service providers, please contact:

    OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES

    Mount Olive Lutheran Church has many programs to enhance spiritual growth and fellowship.  The following pages provide information on each program.

    Worship & Education:
    •  The Music Program: Senior Choir, Women Chorus, Youth Choir, Small Group Instrumental and Soloists, Detroit Folk Mass and Lead Me Guide Me Hymnal
    •  The Education Department: Sunday School (Youth and Adult) Wednesday night Bible Study, Prayer Groups, Youth Groups, Vacation Bible School
    •  Women of the ELCA: The women of the church who meet once a month for learning and fellowship. An annual Women's Day Thank offering service is also a part of their plans. The women participate in several community outreach projects

    Outreach Ministry:
    Frances Byrd Horn of Plenty Food Pantry: 
    A program to feed families and individuals in need.
    S.A.L.T (Save A Life Today): 
    A youth initiative focusing on the development of life skills & competencies and the opportunity to have positive experiences with caring adults.
